Accessibility Statement
In plain English: I serve a lot of Medicare clients, many of whom use screen readers, voice assistants, or have vision challenges. This site is designed to be usable by everyone. If something's not working for you, call me directly and I'll help — or fix it.
Our commitment
Irene Botouroglou, Licensed Medicare Agent is committed to ensuring that ibhins.com is accessible to people with disabilities. I work to maintain this site in substantial conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard recommended by the U.S. Department of Justice for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Current accessibility features
This website has been built with the following features to support users with disabilities:
- Semantic HTML with properly structured headings, landmarks, and lists so screen readers can navigate efficiently
- Alternative text on all meaningful images
- Keyboard navigation — every interactive element is reachable without a mouse
- Sufficient color contrast — text meets WCAG AA contrast ratios against its background
- Responsive design that adapts from mobile phones to large monitors, at standard zoom levels up to 200%
- Plain-language content that avoids insurance jargon wherever possible, and explains it when necessary
- Descriptive link text so users know where each link leads before clicking
- Consistent navigation across pages
- No autoplay audio or video and no flashing content that could trigger photosensitive reactions
Known limitations
While I strive for full compliance, some aspects of this site may not yet meet the full WCAG 2.1 AA standard:
- The embedded QR code is a visual element; the destination URL (quick Medicare tips) is described in the surrounding text as a fallback for screen readers
- The external booking calendar (Setmore) is a third-party service with its own accessibility characteristics; if it isn't working for you, call me directly at +1 (727) 459-5627 to schedule
- News articles linked from the Newsroom section open on third-party websites (CMS.gov, Medicare Rights Center, etc.) whose accessibility is governed by those sites
Assistive technology compatibility
This site has been designed to work with recent versions of the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android)
- Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Voice control software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking, macOS Voice Control)
Alternative ways to access our services
If any part of this website or service is not accessible to you, or if you prefer a different way to work with me, the following options are always available:

- Translated assistance available through CMS Language Line and state resources — ask and I'll arrange it

When you contact me about accessibility, please include the page where you encountered a problem and the assistive technology you were using, if possible. That helps me fix the issue faster.
Ongoing effort
Accessibility is not a one-time project. I review this site periodically, update it as guidelines evolve, and welcome feedback from users of assistive technology. This statement will be updated as the site changes.
